Ready Magazine Announces the READY Publication Mentorship Initiative 2020!
Wanted: Young Women Who Write
Requirements: Must be a high school Junior or Senior in 2019-2020 school year, OR a Freshman or Sophomore in college, 25 or younger
When: July 30 & 31, 2020

What: READY Publication Mentorship Initiative 2020!
Ready Magazine, a quarterly publication is set to kick off our second READY Publication Mentorship Initiative for junior and senior high school girls. This year we are excited to announced that in additional to high school girls we have opened the event up to freshman and sophomore college students ages 25 years or younger.
This is an amazing opportunity for young women who are ready to let their writing skills and their opinions shine!
Every attendee will get to attend the 2 day conference where they’ll hear from:
- A former Dispatch journalist who will share how to cover a news-worthy story
- Business expert who will share how to get paid to write
- Social media expert who knows the key to being seen, heard and read
- Attorney who will discuss the legal issues of writing and publishing
- Teacher who specializes in creative writing and how to build a compelling story
- Ready team member who will teach you what you need to know to make sure your story is ready for the magazine
- Ready Publisher who will show you the best way to create your story board and a title that draws in readers
- Photographer who will help you marry the best image with your story
They’ll also be part of:
- A photo shoot, and will receive a head shot for their byline
- An action circle with a Ready contributor who will help mentor them and offer guidance for their article
Each attendee who completes the 2 day event and submits their finished article will be published in a Special Edition Ready Publication
They will also own the rights to their work and can use the articles as part of their college applications or to build a portfolio of work for internship submissions, job applications and free-lance writing opportunities.
2 High school participants and 2 college participants will also be selected from the attendees for an internship with Ready Publications.
~ Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided.
This entire 2 day experience is valued over $700 of training, access to resources and mentorship. Ready and their team are offering this at NO COST to each participant.

Gail and Dominiq Dudley, mother daughter duo are the co-founders of Ready Magazine, based in Columbus, Ohio with subscribers in all 50 U.S. States and several countries.
Gail is an accomplished author and entrepreneur who has served diverse communities over the past 25 years. Dominiq is a recent Howard University graduate who attended high school at Olentangy Orange High School.
Weary of purchasing magazines with more pages of advertisements than substantive and meaningful content, together they launched READY.
They were determined to produce a creative, content-rich, and cutting-edge publication that would provide a platform for the beautiful diversity of women and girls around the world to share their powerful voices. Ready is challenging women and girls to move beyond the status quo.
